Where Oscar is ahead

Oscar says it is SRB ready as well as FBR and PRA. Café QR isn't connected to the Sindh Revenue Board yet, so a restaurant in Sindh that needs its official bill from the POS should weigh that first.

It also syncs Foodpanda orders on its restaurant offer, where Café QR puts Foodpanda on the Pro plan.

Ask what you will pay each month

Oscar's payments page shows a monthly cost of Rs 0 with a fee of 2.6% plus Rs 0.5 per transaction and a one-time device cost, but no plan prices. Ask in writing whether the fee applies to every sale or only to card and wallet payments, what the device costs, and whether there is a monthly subscription for the restaurant features.

Café QR is one monthly price per restaurant: Rs 6,000 for the full POS, with no setup fee and nothing per order. On a busy month the difference between a flat price and a percentage of sales can be large, so work it out on your own takings.

Café QR names the rails it supports: Raast from any bank or wallet app into your own account, JazzCash with your own merchant account, cash and card on your bank's machine. Oscar's pages talk about cards and digital wallets without naming them, so ask which ones and what each costs.

How much does Oscar POS cost compared with Café QR?+

Not yet. Café QR reports to PRA in Punjab and FBR in Islamabad, with the invoice number and QR code on the bill and credit notes for refunds. In Sindh your official bill stays with the till you use today.
