When Epos Now may fit

Epos Now may fit a venue that wants dedicated EPOS hardware with installation, an app store of integrations, and payments, bookings and stock from one supplier.

It also lists course firing, ingredient-level stock and an offline mode for card payments, which may matter to a busy restaurant or pub.

When Café QR may fit

Café QR may fit an independent café, restaurant, pub or takeaway that wants one system for the till, the kitchen screen and QR table ordering, and wants to see the full price before speaking to anyone. The POS plan is £39 per venue a month and includes the till, waiter app, tabs, floor plan, bookings and your own online ordering page.

It runs in a browser on hardware you may already own, and card payments go to your own Stripe account with no Café QR platform fee. There is no contract and the first month is free.

It is not the right choice if you need to take card payments through an internet outage: offline, Café QR’s till takes only cash and your own payment types.

How much does Epos Now cost?+

Epos Now prices on a quote. Its UK pricing page says the discounted Complete Solution bundle needs a 12-month payments, care and support subscription starting at £54 a month. Its kitchen display is £49 a month, or £19 software-only.

Is there a contract with Café QR?+

No. Café QR plans are monthly, per venue, with the first month free and no card needed to start. You can cancel at any time.

Does Café QR use its own card machines?+

No. Card payments go to your own Stripe account. In person you can use a Stripe Terminal reader in the UK, or take card on your existing machine and record it on the till.
