US coffee shops and restaurants
POS system for coffee shops and restaurants in the US
In a US coffee shop the tip is part of the order and sales tax goes on at the end, and Café QR's POS handles both. The till, kitchen display, open tabs and floor plan, bookings, online ordering and cash-up run in one system on the tablets you already have, and QR table ordering is built in for guests who would rather order from their seat. It starts at $39 per venue, per month, and we never take a cut of an order.

- Table QR and your own online page feed the same kitchen and takings

Where we are
We are a Liverpool company, so setup is a screen-share rather than a site visit: we build your menu and till from a photo of your menu, lay out your floor plan and stay on the call while you put a test sale through. Your venue's own clock drives opening hours and daily takings, so nothing runs on UK time.

Tips are part of the sale, not an afterthought
Tipping is structural in American service work in a way it is not in most of the world, and a POS that treats it as optional plumbing costs your baristas real money. The till takes a tip with percentage presets or a typed amount, recorded against cash or card so the drawer count stays right, and a tips report shows what each person who served took.
Guests ordering online can tip at checkout too, and online payments go to the shop's own Stripe account, tip included. We do not touch it, hold it, or take a percentage of it. How it reaches your staff stays your decision and your payroll's.
- Tips at the till and at online checkout, by staff member
- Open tabs per table, with a split-the-bill helper
- Tips are excluded from any platform fee, because there isn't one
02
Sales tax is added at checkout, not buried in the menu price
American menu prices are quoted before tax, and the rate depends on the state and often the county. That is the opposite of how European systems assume prices work, which is why imported tills tend to show the wrong total.
Set your rate once and mark prices as tax-exclusive. The till and the menu show the price your board shows, and the tax appears as its own line on the bill where a US guest expects to find it. The receipt breaks it out.

What the POS costs, and what it does not do here
Most ordering products, and every delivery app, charge a share of each order. On a shop doing three hundred drinks a day, a two per cent cut is real money leaving every single day, and it grows precisely as you get busier.
Café QR starts at $39 a month for QR ordering and the kitchen screen; the till, waiter app, tabs, floor plan, bookings and cash-up are added on top, and we quote that in USD before you start. Either way it is a flat monthly price, not a percentage. Built-in card readers are UK only for now, so outside the UK you keep the card terminal you have: take the payment on it and tap Card on the till to record the sale.
- No per-order commission, at any volume
- You are the merchant; we never hold your money
- One month free, no card needed

Questions
Cafés and restaurants in the United States ask
How does the POS handle US sales tax?
Set your rate once and mark prices as tax-exclusive. The till and menu show the price on your board, and the tax is added as its own line on the bill and broken out on the receipt.
Can I use my existing card terminal?
Yes, and for now you need to. Built-in card readers are UK only for now, so outside the UK you keep the card terminal you have: take the payment on it and tap Card on the till to record the sale.
What does Café QR cost in the US?
From $39 per venue, per month, billed in USD, after one month free with no card needed. That covers QR ordering, the kitchen screen, menu and loyalty tools; the till and the rest of the full POS are added on top, and we quote that in USD before you start. There is no per-order commission.
Pricing
One price. Every table. No commission.
You pay the same each month whether guests order fifty times or five thousand. We never take a share of your orders, and guest payments go straight into your own account.
What a 5% commission per order would cost you
| Monthly table sales | 5% commission | Café QR |
|---|---|---|
| $6,000 | $300 | $39 |
| $12,000 | $600 | $39 |
| $24,000 | $1,200 | $39 |
Card and wallet payments go through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rate, paid to Stripe. We add nothing on top.
