What each dish really earns, on every channel

Insights → Profit per dish lists every dish sold on every channel: QR at the table, the till and waiters, your own online ordering, and each delivery app sending orders to Café QR. For each one you see sales without VAT, food cost, app fees, profit and margin.

Sales are what guests actually paid: discounts, promo codes and refunds are taken off. Food cost comes from the dish's recipe and your ingredient costs, so it moves when a supplier's price does.

Totals per channel show which way of selling pays best, over the last 7, 30 or 90 days.

Enter what each delivery app takes as a percent of the order, from your contract or statement, and every order from that app has it taken off. Until a rate is set, the page says so, so an app's profit never looks better than it is.

Switch it on in Settings and every Monday morning you get last week in a few lines, wherever your manager alerts go (email, WhatsApp or both): sales against the week before, an estimated profit before wages and overheads, delivery app fees, the best earning dish and the one with the thinnest margin.

With food safety, it also lists opening and closing checks missed on days you traded and temperature breaches without a corrective action. With the rota and time clock, it lists late clock-ins and shifts nobody clocked in for.

Profit per dish and the Monday email come with Insights. Profit is before wages, rent and other overheads, and it is only as good as your recipes and ingredient costs. In the Monday email, dishes without a costed recipe are assumed to cost the same share of sales as the ones with one, and the email says how much of the figure rests on real recipes. App commission is the flat rate you enter, not read from the app's statement.
