EPOS system for Manchester cafés and restaurants
Weekend brunch in the Northern Quarter, Ancoats or Chorlton comes in rounds, and staffing turns over quickly. Café QR is a cloud POS that a new starter can pick up in a shift: the till, the kitchen display, open tabs and the floor plan, bookings and cash-up in one system on any tablet, with QR table ordering built in for the second and third round.

Where we are
We are based in Liverpool, roughly an hour from Manchester by train, so setup calls happen in UK hours and we can come over in person when a café would rather be walked through it than emailed a guide.
01
Weekend brunch runs on tabs
In the Northern Quarter, Ancoats and Chorlton, weekend brunch runs at a completely different intensity from a Tuesday morning. Tables sit for an hour, guests order in rounds rather than once, and the bill is usually split at the end.
Each table keeps an open tab that staff add to from the till or the waiter app on a phone, and the floor plan shows which tables are cooking, waiting to pay or asking for the bill. Guests can add a round themselves from the QR on the table, and it goes on the same tab.
02
A till a new starter learns in a shift
Manchester's café staffing turns over quickly, and a till that needs a day of training is a till that gets bypassed on a busy Saturday when the new starter is on.
The till is your own menu as buttons, with sizes, milks and extras as choices. The kitchen side is one screen with three columns: new, preparing, ready. Roles decide who can refund, discount or open the drawer, so a new starter can sell without being able to do anything you have not allowed.
- No proprietary hardware: any iPad, Android tablet or laptop
- Staff roles and manager PIN for refunds and discounts
- Time clock for shifts, with a downloadable timesheet

Your own online ordering and customer list
Cafés in Manchester compete with delivery platforms that own the customer relationship and charge for it. On the POS plan you get your own order page for collection and delivery with no commission, and guests who opt in join a customer list that belongs to the café.
You can message those regulars about a quiet weekday or a new roast. They can unsubscribe at any time, and we do not market to them ourselves.

Questions
Cafés and restaurants in Manchester ask
What hardware does a Manchester café need for the POS?
A tablet, phone or laptop for the till and another for the kitchen screen. Star or Epson network printers are optional. There is no proprietary terminal to buy. It needs an internet connection, though the till keeps taking cash if it drops.
How quickly can a new starter learn the till?
Usually within a shift. The till is your own menu as buttons, the kitchen screen has three columns (new, preparing, ready), and roles stop a new starter refunding or discounting unless you allow it.
Can you set it up in person in Manchester?
Usually setup is a screen-share, but we are based in Liverpool, roughly an hour away by train, and can come over when a café would rather be walked through it.
