Part of the Café QR POS · Collection and delivery

Online ordering for takeaways, with no commission

Give customers a page of your own to order collection or delivery from, instead of a marketplace that takes a cut of every order. Online ordering is one channel of the Café QR POS, so these orders land on the same kitchen screen, printer and takings as sales on the till and orders from your table and counter codes.

What commission is actually costing you

Work out what a percentage fee costs at your volume.

Enter roughly what you take through a commission-based ordering or delivery platform. This compares that percentage against Café QR’s Order & Pay + Delivery plan: a flat £14.99/month with a 0% platform fee.

Commission cost per month, at that volume

Estimated monthly saving
+£705

That's roughly £8,460 a year, before Stripe's standard card-processing charges, which apply under either model and aren't part of this comparison.

This estimate excludes additional staff accounts and message usage above the included allowance. See the full pricing for those costs.

Your own order page

Each café gets an order page that carries its logo, cover photo and colour, and the same menu as your table codes. Customers choose collection or delivery, pick as soon as possible or a time later today, and pay.

Put the link on your website, your social profiles and your Google Business profile, or print it as a QR code for the shop window. There is no app to download.

  • ✓Collection and delivery, switched on separately
  • ✓Ready-in and delivery times that you set
  • ✓The menu, options, sold-out items and opening hours come from the dashboard
  • The takeaway POS: counter till and queue ordering →
  • Online ordering vs delivery apps: who owns your customers →

02

Delivery by postcode, with your own drivers

List the postcodes you deliver to, each with its own delivery fee and minimum order. A customer types their postcode and sees at once whether you deliver to them, what it costs and whether their basket is big enough. Orders outside your areas cannot be placed.

Customers give a full delivery address and a phone number, and both are printed on the kitchen ticket for your driver. Assign each order to one of your riders and they get a link on their phone with the address, a map and a call button. You deliver with your own riders; there is no live tracking.

  • ✓Postcode areas, outward codes or sectors, such as CH, CH2 or CH2 1
  • ✓A fee and a minimum order for each zone
  • ✓A delivery fee that carries the right VAT and no service charge
03

Pay by card or cash

Customers can pay by card with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card through your own Stripe account, or choose cash on collection or delivery. You can also allow a card machine at the shop or the door, and mark the order paid when it is settled.

Card orders only reach the kitchen once the payment has gone through. Cash orders go straight to the kitchen, so the order screen shows how much to collect.

  • See pricing and plans →
04

On the kitchen screen and the printer

Collection and delivery orders are marked on the kitchen screen with the time wanted, the customer's phone number and the address. The kitchen ticket says COLLECTION or DELIVERY, the time, the phone number, the address and, for cash on delivery, the amount to collect.

Customers see a status page that updates on its own: order received, being made, ready or on its way, then collected or delivered.

  • See the kitchen display system →
  • The staff till for counter sales →
  • Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat orders →
05

What it does not do yet

Customers order for today only, not for a later day. There are no email or text messages to customers; they follow the status page. There is no live rider tracking or courier integration, and no third-party marketplace listing. On the POS and Multi-site plans, delivery app orders (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat and others) can reach your kitchen screen through Deliverect, Otter or the order API; direct Uber Eats and Deliveroo connections are coming soon.

Café QR is not a replacement for a large delivery operation with its own app and fleet. It suits a takeaway or café that delivers a few miles with its own driver and wants to stop paying commission on those orders.

Questions

Straight answers, before you start.

Visit the help centre →Ask us on WhatsApp
Do you take a commission on online orders?+

No. Café QR charges a 0% platform fee. Card payments go through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rate, paid to Stripe.

Can I limit where I deliver?+

Yes. You list the postcode areas you cover, each with its own fee and minimum order. A customer outside them cannot place a delivery order.

Do customers need an account or an app?+

No. They open your link, order in their browser and give a name, phone number and, for delivery, an address.

Does it work in Pakistan?+

Yes. Customers choose their area and type their full address, and can pay with JazzCash, Raast, cash or a card machine brought to the door.
