A takeaway EPOS system for the counter, the queue and online

On the POS plan (£39 a month), the till runs in the browser on an iPad, Android tablet, phone or laptop. Tap the items, pick sizes and extras, add the customer's name, and take cash with the change worked out, card on a Stripe Terminal reader (UK) or card on your own machine. The order goes straight to the kitchen screen or printer.

Refunds come off your takings with a reason, staff clock in and out, and at close you count the drawer against the float.

Put the counter code on the till, a sign by the queue or a window poster that reads “Skip the queue”. Customers scan it, choose their food and drinks, enter their name and pay. The order goes straight to your kitchen screen with their name on it, while the person on the till keeps serving everyone who prefers to talk to someone.

Their phone shows the order moving along and says when it is ready to collect. Counter ordering is switched on in Settings and is in every plan, from £9.99 a month. Counter codes do not show the Call staff or Request bill buttons because nobody is at a table.

Order & Pay + Delivery (£14.99 a month, also in the POS plan) adds your own order page for collection and delivery, with no commission per order. Customers choose as soon as possible or a time later today, pay by card or cash, and follow the order on a status page.

Delivery works by postcode zone, each with its own fee and minimum order, and you assign orders to your own riders, who get a link with the address, a map and a call button.

Till sales, queue orders and online orders land in one queue on the kitchen screen, each marked with the customer's name, or the collection time and address. Staff move them from new to preparing to ready, with a chime for new orders and a warning when one runs late. If you prefer paper, tickets print on supported Star and Epson network printers.

Set up sizes, options and extras once and they apply everywhere. Hide a sold-out item and it disappears from the till, the counter code and the online page at once.

If the internet drops, the till keeps taking cash (and your own payment types) and uploads those sales when it is back, but card payments, tabs and online orders wait for the connection. A cash drawer plugged into a USB receipt printer opens on cash sales. Online customers order for today only, there is no live rider tracking, and Café QR does not list you on a delivery marketplace. On the POS and Multi-site plans, delivery app orders (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat and others) can reach your kitchen screen through Deliverect, Otter or the order API; direct Uber Eats and Deliveroo connections are coming soon.
