A pub and bar EPOS system: till, tabs and kitchen screens

On the POS plan, Café QR is the bar till: tap the round, take cash, a Stripe card reader or your own card machine, or put it on a tab. Happy hours switch on and off by themselves, and at close staff count the drawer against the float. It runs in the browser on an iPad, Android tablet or laptop behind the bar.

If you would rather keep your current till for now, Café QR runs beside it. With Square you can import your menu, push paid orders into Square and keep sold-out items in sync; with other tills, daily takings export as CSV.

Guests pay through your own Stripe account, with your venue as the merchant. Café QR adds a 0% platform fee. Until you connect Stripe, guests order and pay at the till.

On the POS plan you set up kitchen stations: drinks go to the bar screen and food to the kitchen screen, each showing only its own items, with timers and a warning when an order runs late. Every channel feeds the same screens, whether the round was rung up on the till, taken on a waiter's phone or ordered from a table.

If you would rather work from paper, connect a supported Star CloudPRNT or Epson network printer and a ticket prints as each order arrives. Each printer you connect receives every ticket.

A guest scans the code on their table and sees your drinks and food menu in their phone browser. They pick a pint or a half, a single or a double, a mixer, or a burger with extra toppings, then pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card.

The paid order appears on the staff screen with the table number, the guest's name and every option chosen. Your team pours or prepares it, marks it ready and takes it to the table. Nobody has to leave their seat or their conversation to reach the bar.

Floor staff can take orders at the table on the waiter app, a phone version of the till, and the floor plan shows which tables are ordering, waiting for food or ready to pay. Each person gets a role, so bar staff see the till and tabs without seeing the takings.

When a guest taps “Call staff” or “Request bill” on the table's menu, the request appears in the dashboard with the table number until someone marks it done.

Café QR takes the order; it does not check a guest's age. Staff apply your Challenge 21 or Challenge 25 policy when they bring alcohol to the table, just as they would at the bar, and you remain responsible for your licensing conditions.

Guests who order from the table pay as they order, or, if you allow paying at the bar, unpaid rounds build up on the table's tab (on the POS plan) for staff to settle. Scheduled ordering hours cannot yet run past midnight, so late-opening venues use the pause switch in the dashboard to stop orders at last orders.
