A food truck POS system for street food and market stalls

On the POS plan (£39 a month), the till runs in the browser on the phone or tablet you already carry. Tap the items, pick the options, take cash with the change worked out, or card on a Stripe Terminal reader (UK) or your own card machine. The sale goes straight to the kitchen screen; on a phone, the sale sits in a bar at the bottom so the menu has room.

Customers scan the counter code, choose from your live menu, add notes for the kitchen and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. Their phone then shows the order's progress and tells them when to collect.

A counter code has no table, so it does not show the Call staff or Request bill buttons. It is made for people who order, wait nearby and collect. Counter ordering is switched on in Settings.

Run the kitchen screen on a phone or tablet at the hatch. Till sales and QR orders arrive in one queue, it chimes for each new order and moves orders from new to preparing to ready with one tap. If you prefer paper, connect a supported Star CloudPRNT or Epson network printer and a ticket prints for each order.

Change a price or hide a sold-out item in seconds, even in the middle of service. Pause ordering with one switch when you are too busy, and set the hours customers can order.

Type in your menu, start from a template or photograph a printed menu. Send us a photo and we will set up the items for you free. Then print the counter code, large, and stick it on the hatch or a sign. The first month is free and includes the full POS, then from £9.99 a month for QR ordering or £39 with the till, with no contract.

Customers pay through your own Stripe account, with a 0% Café QR platform fee and payouts to your bank on Stripe's schedule. Until you connect Stripe, customers can still order and pay at the hatch.

Customers need a mobile signal to order from their phone, and your order screen and card payments need one too. If it drops, the till keeps taking cash (and your own payment types) and uploads those sales when it is back. Check the signal at your usual pitches. Each Café QR account has one menu, so a business with several trucks sets up each as its own venue.

Café QR does not check ages, so you apply your own Challenge 25 policy if you sell alcohol, and delivery needs the Order & Pay + Delivery plan (£14.99) or the delivery add-on, with your own drivers.
