Your takings in QuickBooks or Sage every morning

When a business day is finished, Café QR turns it into one journal. The debits are what came in, by how it was paid: cash, card, Raast in Pakistan, delivery platforms, your own payment types and anything still owed. The credits are what it was for: sales before VAT, VAT, service charge and tips. A split bill is shared across the ways it was paid. The two sides always add up.

Connect QuickBooks Online or Sage once from Accounting. Every night Café QR sends each finished day that hasn't gone yet, oldest first. If one day fails, it stops there, so days never arrive out of order, and you can send a day by hand when you need it sooner.

Each day carries a reference, so a day that has already gone isn't sent again.

Choose which of your ledger accounts each line goes to: sales, VAT, service, tips, cash, card and the rest. Check my accounts match tests the mapping against your accounting package without sending anything. If an account name in a journal isn't in your package, nothing is sent and the page tells you exactly which names to fix.

Download the same daily journals as a spreadsheet from Reports, for Xero or any package your accountant uses. Amounts stay as plain numbers, with credits as negative numbers, so they import cleanly. The takings export, with every payment, is there too.

Accounting comes in the "Insights and accounting" add-on at £8 a month, with Insights, profit per dish and the Monday email; in Profit & Compliance at £19 a month with stock and food safety; and in the Multi-site plan at £59 per venue a month.

Café QR sends sales: one summary journal a day, not each sale as an invoice. Supplier bills, wages and bank reconciliation stay in your accounting package. A direct Xero connection isn't switched on yet; Xero users import the daily journal file.
