The ten questions

Ask every vendor these. Here are our answers.

  • 1. What is the real monthly price?

    Why it matters
A low starting price can grow with per-user, per-waiter, per-screen and per-branch add-ons. Add up what you will use.
    Café QR's answer
Rs 4,999 Standard, Rs 6,000 Plus for the full POS, Rs 7,000 Pro for several branches. One price per restaurant, with no setup fee.
  • 2. Is there a commission on orders?

    Why it matters
Delivery platforms take a cut of every order; your own system shouldn't.
    Café QR's answer
No commission. Your own delivery and collection page has none, and guest payments go into your own account.
  • 3. Which payments does it take, by name?

    Why it matters
“Digital payments” can mean anything. Guests expect Raast and wallets.
    Café QR's answer
Raast from any bank or wallet app, JazzCash from the table with your own merchant account, cash at the counter, and card on your bank's machine.
  • 4. Which tax authority does it report to?

    Why it matters
Punjab restaurants report to PRA, Islamabad to FBR, Sindh to SRB. A POS must match your branch.
    Café QR's answer
PRA and FBR, per branch, with the invoice number and QR code on the bill. Not connected to the Sindh Revenue Board yet.
  • 5. What happens to a refund?

    Why it matters
A refunded sale that was reported needs a credit note, or your records and the authority's disagree.
    Café QR's answer
A credit note for the refunded amount is sent to PRA or FBR, in full or in part, and its number shows on the receipt. Failures are kept and retried each night.
  • 6. Can I test before going live?

    Why it matters
Authorities issue credentials per business and per branch and expect sandbox testing.
    Café QR's answer
Yes. Each branch goes through the authority's sandbox first, then you switch it to live once approved. We walk through it with you.
  • 7. What works when the power or internet drops?

    Why it matters
Load shedding is routine. Ask exactly what keeps working.
    Café QR's answer
The till keeps taking cash and your own payment types and uploads the sales later. Raast, card, tabs and QR ordering wait for the connection.
  • 8. Are the card and cash tax rates handled?

    Why it matters
Punjab taxes card and digital payments at a lower rate than cash.
    Café QR's answer
A card rate and a cash rate, each applied to its own bills, and you set both yourself.
  • 9. How do delivery and Foodpanda work?

    Why it matters
Separate screens for each channel slow the kitchen down.
    Café QR's answer
Counter, waiter, table, delivery and, on Pro, Foodpanda orders land in one kitchen queue and on the same printers.
  • 10. What does setup involve?

    Why it matters
Typing a long menu in by hand takes days.
    Café QR's answer
Send a photo of your menu and we set it up with you, in rupees, with sizes and extras. Nothing to install: it runs on the phones, tablets and laptops you have.

How to use this list

Put the same ten questions to every vendor, in writing, and keep the answers. Where an answer is vague (“tax-ready”, “digital payments”, “delivery management”) ask for the specifics before you decide.

For a side-by-side with a named competitor, see our comparisons with Moneypex, Oscar POS, CORN POS, Blink and Websol Bawarchi, and our page on your own delivery page against foodpanda. Every figure on them comes from that company's own pages, dated, with what we couldn't verify listed beside it.

Questions

Straight answers, before you start.

Visit the help centre →Ask us on WhatsApp
Which restaurant POS is best in Pakistan?+

The right one is the one that matches your branch's tax authority, takes the payments your guests use, keeps working when the power drops and costs what you expect once you add what you need. Ask each vendor the ten questions above and compare the answers.

Do I need a POS that reports to PRA or FBR?+

It depends on your branch and your registration. Punjab restaurants above the turnover threshold report to PRA, and restaurants in Islamabad answer to FBR. Check with your tax adviser or the authority, and choose a POS that reports to the right one.

Can I compare Café QR with a specific POS?+

Yes. We publish comparisons with Moneypex, Oscar POS, CORN POS, Blink and Websol Bawarchi, and with foodpanda for delivery, each built from the company's own public pages. If you want another one compared, tell us on WhatsApp and we will research it from the vendor's own site.
