How to Connect Foodpanda to Your POS in Pakistan
Get Foodpanda orders onto your kitchen screen without a separate tablet: what a direct POS connection does and how to set up each branch.
Updated 17 October 2026
Most restaurants on Foodpanda run it from a separate tablet. An order comes in, someone reads it off the vendor app and types it into the till, or shouts it to the kitchen. That's slow at rush hour, and it's where mistakes happen: a missed add-on, a wrong quantity, an order that never reaches the kitchen.
A direct POS connection removes the re-typing. Foodpanda sends each order straight to your POS, so it lands on the kitchen screen next to your dine-in and takeaway orders, with every dish, option and note exactly as the customer placed it.
What the connection does in Café QR
Once a branch is connected:
- Orders arrive by themselves. Each Foodpanda order appears on your kitchen screen and prints on your kitchen printer like any other order, labelled as a Foodpanda order.
- Accepting is automatic, or done from the kitchen. With Accept automatically on, orders are accepted as they arrive. With it off, tapping Start cooking on the kitchen screen accepts the order and cancelling it rejects it. Foodpanda gives you about 15 minutes to accept, so if you turn auto-accept off, keep an eye on the screen.
- The rider knows when it's ready. Tapping Mark ready on a rider order tells Foodpanda the food is prepared, so the rider can collect it.
- Cancellations come back. If Foodpanda or the customer cancels, the order updates on your screen.
- Takings stay in one place. Foodpanda orders count in the same reports and cash-up as the rest of the day.
If an update doesn't reach Foodpanda (for example the internet drops just as you mark an order ready), it's listed under Updates Foodpanda didn't take on the Delivery apps page for seven days, so you can finish it in the Foodpanda vendor app.
Where it stands today
Café QR's Foodpanda connection is built on Delivery Hero's official POS integration, and it is being approved by Foodpanda. You can set your branches up now; orders start arriving once Foodpanda switches the connection on. Until then, keep using the Foodpanda vendor app as you do today. We'll update this article when it's live.
What you need
- A Foodpanda vendor account for each branch, with an account manager you can contact.
- Café QR on the Pro plan (Delivery apps is part of Pro, alongside more than one branch and stock). During your free month every POS feature is open, so you can set it up while you trial.
- The owner login: only the owner can connect delivery apps.
How to set up a branch
- Sign in to your Café QR dashboard as the owner and open Settings, then Delivery apps (under Ways to order).
- Under Foodpanda, find the branch. Each one shows its own POS vendor ID. Copy it.
- Message your Foodpanda account manager. Ask them to link that branch to Café QR as its POS, and give them the branch's POS vendor ID.
- Back in Café QR, tick Take Foodpanda orders for that branch. Tick Accept automatically too if you'd rather not accept each order by hand.
- Tap Save. The branch now reads Taking Foodpanda orders.
- Repeat for each branch. Every branch has its own vendor ID, so orders always go to the right kitchen.
Once Foodpanda has linked the branch, place a small test order through the Foodpanda app and watch it arrive on your kitchen screen.
Tips for busy kitchens
- Leave auto-accept on at rush hour. The 15-minute limit goes quickly when the kitchen is full, and an order that isn't accepted in time is lost.
- Keep the vendor app logged in for now. Some things, like menu changes and pausing your store, are still done in Foodpanda's own app.
- Prices on the ticket are what the customer paid, including any Foodpanda discount, so your takings match Foodpanda's statement.
Common questions
Do I still need the Foodpanda tablet? For menu changes, store hours and pausing, yes. For receiving and preparing orders, no: they come to your Café QR kitchen screen.
Will my Foodpanda menu sync from Café QR? Not yet. You manage your Foodpanda menu in Foodpanda as before. The order brings its own dish names and prices.
Does Café QR take a cut of Foodpanda orders? No. Café QR doesn't charge commission on any order. Foodpanda's own commission is between you and Foodpanda.
Can I get orders from other delivery apps? Other apps and your own systems can send orders through the Café QR order API, also on the Delivery apps page. If you want direct orders without any commission, your own delivery and collection page is part of the Plus plan.
