Card Machines Setup in Pakistan
Use any card machine with the till: add each one by name to check its takings at close, and in the UK link Dojo or SumUp so the till sends the amount for you.

You don't need new hardware to take card payments with Café QR. Any card machine works with the till, whether it comes from your bank or a provider like Worldpay, Barclaycard, Teya, Dojo or SumUp. Add each machine by name and the till will ask which one took each card payment, and your end-of-day report will show a card total for every machine.
In the UK you can also link a Dojo machine or a SumUp Solo. The till then sends the amount to the machine, so nobody has to key it in.
Add a card machine
- In your Café QR dashboard, open Settings, then Till & printers.
- Under Card machines, type a name staff will recognise, for example HBL machine 1 or Counter Worldpay.
- If you have more than one branch, pick the Branch the machine sits in. Choose Every branch for a machine that moves between them.
- Tap Add card machine.
A manager or the owner can add and remove machines. Removing a machine takes it off the till, but past sales keep its name.
Take a payment on the till
- Ring up the sale and tap Card (or Own machine if you also have a linked reader).
- Key the amount into the card machine and let the customer pay.
- On the till, tap the machine you used. If it isn't listed, tap Another machine.
Check your machines at close
Print the Z report from Cash-up. Under Card by machine it lists each machine's card total and the number of payments. Compare each line with the end-of-day slip that machine prints. A line called Card, machine not picked collects card payments where nobody picked a machine.
Link a Dojo machine (UK)
- In your Dojo account, create a secret API key in the Developer portal.
- In Till & printers, under Dojo, paste the key and tap Connect Dojo. Only the owner can do this.
- Pick your Dojo machine from the list, give it a name, and tap Add Dojo machine.
On the till, tap Card reader, pick the Dojo machine and tap Charge. The amount appears on the machine. If the machine asks for a signature, the till shows Signature matches and Reject so you can answer it.
Link a SumUp Solo (UK)
- Find your merchant code on your SumUp profile and create an API key under Settings, For developers, API keys.
- In Till & printers, under SumUp Solo, enter both and tap Connect SumUp.
- On the Solo, log out, open Connections, then API, and tap Connect. Type the code it shows into Pairing code, give the reader a name, and tap Pair Solo.
Other SumUp readers, such as the Air, work as standalone machines.
Common questions
Which bank machines can be linked in Pakistan? None yet. Pakistani bank terminals from HBL, UBL, Bank Alfalah, MCB and Meezan don't offer a way for a till to send them the amount over the internet. Add them as standalone machines and you still get a card total per machine at close.
Does Café QR take a fee on card payments? No. Payments go straight into your own Dojo, SumUp or bank account, at that provider's rates.
What if a linked machine says the payment couldn't be confirmed? Check the machine's own screen. If it says approved, record the sale with Own machine and pick that machine, so the takings still match.
