Where we are
Café QR is built and run from Liverpool, so setup calls happen in UK hours and we can visit in person when a café would rather be walked through it than emailed a guide.
01
Small floor space, expensive rent
Independent cafés in places like Shoreditch, Borough, Clerkenwell and Peckham are often working with a counter and a handful of tables in a very small footprint, because floor space in London is expensive whichever way you cut it. A queue that reaches the door is a queue that blocks the door.
Table ordering does not need a second till or extra counter space. Seated guests order from their phone, so the physical queue at the counter is only ever the walk-in and takeaway trade.
02
The lunch window is short and it is everyone at once
Around office clusters in the City, Canary Wharf and the West End, a large share of the day's covers land inside a narrow lunch window shared with every other café on the street. Staff are already stretched thin, and London hospitality wages mean adding another till hand for ninety minutes a day rarely pencils out.
Orders placed from the table arrive already paid and already itemised, so the constraint during that window is how fast drinks and food can be made, not how fast one person can ring things through.
- A separate QR for every table
- Orders queue on the barista screen in the order they were placed
- Sold-out items hidden from the menu in one tap
03
Your customer list, not a delivery platform's
London cafés compete with delivery platforms more directly than almost anywhere else in the UK, and those platforms keep the customer relationship for themselves. Café QR is built the other way round: guests can opt in after ordering, and the list of who they are belongs to the café, not to us.
Each café connects its own Stripe account and stays the merchant, so card payments land in your bank rather than passing through a marketplace first.
